PADI Underwater Navigator Course

the PADI Underwater Navigator Course is designed to be an introduction to underwater navigation and to help the student diver develop the skills and knowledge necessary for use in underwater navigation.

PADI Underwater Navigator Course Overview

  • the planning, organisation, procedures, techniques, problems and hazards of underwater navigation
  • methods of estimating distances underwater
  • natural navigation techniques
  • using underwater patterns
  • dive site relocation techniques
  • compass navigation techniques

The goals of The PADI Underwater Navigator Course training are:

  • to develop the student’s practical knowledge of underwater navigation
  • to enable the student to plan, organise and make dives using natural and compass navigation techniques

Course Duration

  • Independent study and completion of knowledge reviews
  • 3 open water dives

Pre-requisites

  • You must be certified as a PADI Open Water Diver, PADI Junior Open Water Diver or have a qualifying certification from another training organisation. The Underwater Navigator Dive conducted during the PADI Adventures in Diving Programme may be counted toward this speciality at the discretion of the instructor
  • Be 12 years of age or older
  • Complete a medical statement attached to our booking form
